The Minister of Gender Patricia Kaliati, has launched her book titled “The Path Out Of Poverty” as an inspiration for empowering women and girls in the country.
According to Kaliati the book is aimed to support Malawian girls in fulfilling their dreams and for the development of the country’s 2063 vision.
The country’s former head of state Joyce Banda graced the book launch as the guest of honor and showed her gratitude by buying the book at K1 million.
In her remarks, Banda said this is the way of educating girl child as well as preventing poverty in the country adding that girls are the bright future and heart of the country.
She then asked people who write books in the country to write more books focusing on encouraging girls to work hard on their studies in order to achieve their goals.
The aim of the launched book is to strength studies on a girl child as statistics show that 42 percent of girls under the age of 18 are married which influences the country’s poverty.
