Chaos as church members protest transfer of Reverend Limbani Moyo

There was drama at Viyere Church of Central Africa Presbytery (CCAP) in Mzuzu as church members blocked the vehicle which was sent to transfer Reverend Limbani Moyo to Bandawe Mission in Nkhata Bay.

The church members accused Livingstonia Synod General Secretary (GS) Reverend William Tembo of favouring pastors who supported his candidature for General Secretary.

According to one of the church members, Reverend Tembo is behind transfers of several pastors who were against his candidature and the latest victim is Reverend Moyo.

Apart from blocking the vehicle, the angry church members assaulted one of the synod’s secretariat members.

Reverend Tembo is yet to comment on the matter.

This is the second time the CCAP church under the Livingstonia Synod faced the challenge of church members protesting the transfer of Ministers.

The first incident involved Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango who protested his transfer from Lilongwe to Euthini in Mzimba.

After some court battles, Mhango resigned from the CCAP church and formed his own Church.
