Sex workers encouraged to report abuse

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), has urged sex workers to report any form abuse they face in the line of their duty.

IOM Chief of Mission in Malawi Nomagugu Ncube, said sex workers are equally entitled to all forms of human rights just like anyone else.

According to Ncube, sex workers rights need to be protected within the laws of the land.

Ncube said stakeholders should ensure that the welfare of sex workers is not settled even when they are using their trade.

One of the sex workers, Evylin Daka said the meeting has opened her eyes, as some clients take advantage of her thinking that they do not have knowledge about their rights.
