A 4 year old boy has died after drowned in Kandulu River in the area of Traditional Authority M’bang’ombe in Lumbadzi.
Lumbadzi Police Spokesperson Felix Kwinyani said the deceased, Mphatso Yohane of Mn’gona village met his fate on Thursday December 15, 2022 when he went to the said river for swimming.
It is reported that Mphatso (now deceased) who was staying with his grandmother went to the said river upon returning from a nearby road where together with his friends were escorting the ox-cart.
It is further reported that he did not return home with his friends prompting his grandmother to ask for his whereabout. This prompted his grandmother to look for him at a nearby aforementioned river where his body was found floating whilst dead.
Kwinyani said when matter was reported, officers from Lumbadzi Police Station together with Medical personnel from M’bang’ombe health center visited the scene. Postmortem revealed that death was due to suffocation secondary to drowning.
