Pandemonium erupted on Monday at Ngamwani 2 Village in Thyolo where communities returned home from graveyard with a dead body of a man following allegations by some children that ‘a certain elderly woman’ is behind the death.
The development comes barely weeks after villagers in Mzimba harassed two elderly women suspected of practicing witchcraft.
The man who was working as an intern at Thyolo District Hospital died two days ago after a short illness.
Villagers forced the said woman to bring back to life the dead man or else they will deal with her.
It took the intervention of the Police to calm down the situation following a lengthy discussion with family members.
The dead body was laid to rest last night.
Meanwhile, law enforcers are on the ground monitoring the situation.
