Minister of National Unity and Civic Education, Timothy Mtambo today attended a stakeholders meeting organized by the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) in Mzimba.
The key reason for the meeting was aimed at brainstorming solutions to end harassment of Elderly Persons that has recently paralyzed the district.
According to the meeting, it has come following tortures that an elderly woman, Christina Mphande faced by angry citizens due to allegations of witchcraft in the area of Inkosi Kampingo Sibande.
The meeting was been participated by Religious leaders, Chiefs, Councillors and officials from M’mbelwa District Council.
Weeks ago police in the district arrested 20 people for allegedly assaulting two elderly women on suspicion that one of the women killed her daughter in law through witchcraft.
