12 Malawians rescued from human traffickers in Mwanza

Mwanza Police on December 21, 2022, rescued 12 Malawians who were being trafficked to South Africa.

Police received a tip from well-wishers that a certain man at Masokosa village was harbouring some people who were being trafficked to Republic of South Africa.

Following the tip, police raided the house and rescued the said 12 victims.

The officers also arrested Loti Wilson and Kelvin Kandulu for harbouring and transporting the victims respectively.

On December 22, 2022, police further arrested Kalijo Antony 23 in connection to the same case.

All the 12 victims are from Mangochi district.

Loti Wilson, Kelvin Kandulu and Kalijo Antony will appear in court soon to answer trafficking in person charges.
