Civil Servants to go on national wide strike from January 9

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that Civil Servants in the country will from January 9, 2023 down tools over salaries discrepancies.

This has been confirmed in a statement jointly signed by Civil Servant Trade Union (CSTU) and Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) dated December 21, 2022 seen by this publication.

The move follows a recent discussions between the Government Negotiation Team and representatives of the Civil Servant in the country.

In the statement, the Civil Servants have vowed to only return to work if all their demands are met by the Tonse Alliance Government.

Effort to talk to Minister of Information and Digitalization Gospel Kazako proved futile.
