UDF Councillor Chisuse Iman elected as Mayor for Mangochi Municipality

United Democratic Front Denge Ward Councillor, Chisuse Iman is now the new Mayor for Mangochi Municipality.

He has narrowly defeated Wellington Mangulenje of Mkanamwano Ward by six to five votes.

Chisuse has since pledged to work together with their secrratariat in developing the district.

“In my tenure of office, I will strive to ensure that Mangochi has taken another level in development,” he explains.

Meanwhile, Democratic Progressive Party’s Msikizi Ward Councillor, George Nyungwa has gone unopposed on the deputy mayor post.

The mayoral post fell vacant following the death of Edina Yusuf Jose of Mwasa Ward on 14 August 2022.
