MCP denies sneaking into Chakwera’s bedroom with list of people to be included in new Cabinet

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has come out of the cocoon to trash social media reports claiming that the party has proposed names of people to be included in President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s new Cabinet expected to be released this month.

On New year, President Chakwera promised Malawians to release a less than 20 member Cabinet attracting pressure on the current Ministers as others are likely to be dropped.

on Monday, the social media was awash with a confidential document purportedly from Malawi Congress Party (MCP) sent to President Chakwera where the party proposed names of people to be included in the new Cabinet.

The documents has attracted backlash from Malawians with many accusing the party of hijacking Chakwera’s powers to appoint members of his Cabinet.

But the party through its spokesperson Maurice Munthali has trashed the document, describing it as fake.
