UTM hits back at Mwenifumbo’s claims on Chilima

The United Transformation Movement (UTM)has trashed assertions by its former spokesperson, Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo that some senior members of the party have completely captured the party’s leader, Dr. Saulos Chilima.

UTM spokesperson, Felix Njawala said in a democracy Mwenifumbo has the right to express his opinion.

“It shows democracy is maturing. He has the right to express his opinion. Whether it’s true or not, that’s his right.
But all is well. We are a party, that’s why we continue going,” said Njawala.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Mwenifumbo further alleges that Chilima’s enemies are within the party and that only time will tell.

He added he shared with Chilima the ridicule and emotional suffering he endured during his membership from senior party members he thought were compatriots.

“The worst was when I and the people of the North were tribally profiled by very few senior individuals in the party who felt threatened by presence in UTM,” wrote Mwenifumbo.

Mwenifumbo resigned from UTM last year.
