Fertilizer truck blocks M1 road in Dedza

Date:

A fertilizer-carrying truck caused a major roadblock on the M1 at Dauya Village, under the jurisdiction of Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza, following a brake system failure.

The driver of the Fermark truck, bearing license plate number NS 2284, reported that the vehicle began reversing and ultimately tipped over on one side.

Efforts to clear the road have been hindered by the truck’s owner, who is allegedly refusing to have the vehicle towed while he is away in Blantyre.

Motorist Davie Phiri expressed frustration with the situation, stating that the owner’s indecision is causing inconvenience for citizens stranded on the M1.

Phiri has called on local authorities and security agencies to address the issue quickly.
