A shocking and violent incident took place in the night in Nsanje as unknown attackers killed 65-year-old Malita Liva Tchapo and severely injured her husband Faranando Liva.
The two were from Lambwe 2 village, under the jurisdiction of Traditional Authority Malemia.
According to the district’s Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma, the unknown assailants entered their home and demanded money while assaulting the couple.
The attackers used a sharp object to stab Malita, resulting in her death on the spot.
Faranando was also severely injured and is currently receiving treatment at Nsanje district hospital.
