High Court rules in favour of Bushiri in extradition case

The High Court in Lilongwe has ordered witnesses in extradition case involving Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary to physically testify in court.

Presiding over the ruling, Justice Bruno Kalemba says the state should make sure that they bring the witness to Malawi to testify.

“The witnesses to the extradition hearing will testify physically in the presence of the Chief Resident Magistrate here in Malawi on a date and time to be appointed by the court,” reads the ruling by Judge Bruno Kalemba.

In an interview Defence Lawyer Wapona Kita said he was satisfied with the ruling.

He said they will be waiting to hear from the magistrate’s court as to when the case will continue.
