Business person Timothy Mtilosanje, who was a boyfriend to the late Kottana Chidyaonga, has sued the Malawi police service for 34 days of false imprisonment.
According to court documents Times 360 Malawi has seen, Mtilosanje is also suing the Malawi police service for irreparable damages which the police caused, for example a damaged reputation for being branded as murderer, among other things.
The High Court in Lilongwe found him and other accused with no case to answer over the death of 23-year-old Kottana Chidyaonga.
Chidyaonga died in 2020 allegedly after being bitten by a snake in area 3, Lilongwe.
She was unable to get help from hospital, allegedly due to acute scarcity of anti-venom drugs at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).
