Police in Rumphi Arrest Two Suspects for Trafficking Seven Ethiopian Migrants

Police in Rumphi have apprehended two suspects for allegedly trafficking seven Ethiopian migrants.

The two suspects, Yohane Mkandawire, aged 23, and Nelson Mkandawire, aged 19, were arrested on the night of February 15, 2023, within Bale Hill in Rumphi.

During the arrest, Teshel Ayel, aged 21, and six other Ethiopian nationals were found hidden in a curve, and the two Malawian suspects were amongst them.

The two have been charged with Trafficking in Persons, while the seven Ethiopian nationals have been charged with illegal entry into the country.

They will appear before the court to answer to their respective charges.
