In the early hours of today, police in Blantyre shot down over six armed robbers who were set to rob a bank at Chichiri shopping mall.
Law enforcers received a tip from well-wishers that unknown thieves who were in Honda Freed wanted to carry their operation at Chichiri.
Gun fight ensued at the mall after the thieves noticed the police. They were outsmarted and four were apprehended while two escaped.
The injured thieves were taken to Queens Elizabeth Hospital.
