Government calls civil servants in financial contribution Support towards cyclone victims

Government has appealed to civil servants to make financial contribution to support the families affected by cyclone Freddy.

In a memo signed by Secretary to the President and Cabinet Collen Zamba, states that the contributions should be done in the spirit of ‘Tigwirane Manja’ as encouraged by President Lazarus Chakwera.

According to Zamba the financial contributions should be done except those working in the affected districts from the Southern Region.

Meanwhile the memo has indicated that those on Grade B and above will be required to pay a minimum of k150 thousand while those of Grade N and below will be required to pay minimum of k500.

The other amounts are; Grade C (k100 000), Grade D (k50 000), Grade E&F (k30 000), Grade G H and I (k10 000), Grade J and K (k5 000), lastly Grade L and M (k2 000).

Zamba has since requested all controlling officers to correct all financial contributions in their respective ministries and department and later deposit in the given Bank Account.
