EGENCO renovates its power generating machines affected by Cyclone Freddy

Electricity customers in the country have a reason to smile as they are going to experience short or no power outage.

The Electricity Generation Company Malawi Limited (EGENCO) has disclosed that all power generating machines that were destructed by the heavy rains caused by Cyclone Freddy are now operational.

A press statement released by EGENCO has indicated that machines at Tedzani 3 and Nkula A power stations are now functioning.

The power generating company has said excessive trash, debris and silt and rocks blocked the machines, which stifled their operations.

Meanwhile, the company has also said that rehabilitation works at Kapichira Power Station are underway but they are expected to finish the in this coming month.
