Police shoots man during fracas at Bua ADMARC Deport

A 40-year-old man has been shot on the thigh by a police officer during a fracas which erupted at Bua ADMARC Deport, in Nkhotakota where he wanted to buy maize.

The victims has been identified as Kondwani Mbewe.

While confirming the development Nkhotakota Police Spokesperson Sergeant Paul Malimwe, says a stray bullet landed on the man as the police officer was chasing one of vendors who wanted to grab his riffle after being denied to buy maize.

The victim has since been rushed to Nkhotakota District Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, angry villagers have damaged Mpondaganga Police Unit, injuring three police officers in the process.
