Veteran broadcaster Hope Bembelezi Chisanu fired at MBC

Well-known broadcaster and actor Hope Bembelezi Chisanu has been fired at State controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) with immediate effect.

According to the letter signed by MBC Director General, George Kasakula, Chisanu has been fired for failing to produce “quarterly reports” to the institution.

“Management has therefore endorsed the recommendation made by the Disciplinary committee and as such, you are hereby being informed that your contract of employment with MBC is terminated with immediate effect,” in part reads the letter to Chisanu dated 11th April 2013.

Chisanu was infamous alongside Steve Maseya on MBC for doing DPP dirty propaganda against the opposition.
