Man Charged with Assaulting Wife after She Refused Him S#x in Nkhata Bay

A man named Samuel Kaonga, aged 43, is currently in police custody for allegedly assaulting his wife after she refused him conjugal rights. The incident took place on May 2, 2023, at Yakobemapapa Village in Traditional Authority Timbiri, Nkhata Bay District, Malawi.

According to the Nkhata-Bay police spokesperson, Sergeant Kondwani James, Kaonga had gone out drinking on May 1 and returned in the early hours of the following day. After a few hours of sleep, he asked his wife for sex, but she refused as their child was still in the same room.

This led to a quarrel between the couple, which escalated into a physical fight. As a result, the wife sustained serious injuries, including a dislocated knee joint. She has been referred to the district hospital for treatment.

Kaonga has been taken into police custody for further investigation.

He hails from Yakobemapapa Village in Traditional Authority Timbiri in Nkhata Bay District.
