Court Allows Rastafarian Children To Attend Classes In Public Schools In Dreadlocks

High Court Judge Zione Ntaba has ruled that Rastafarian children should be enrolled in government schools with dreadlocks without any hindrances.

In her ruling in Zomba, Ntaba ordered Ministry of Education to release a letter to all schools across the country by June 30, 2023 to allow Rastafarian children to attain education.

The Rastafarians’ lawyer Chikondi Chijozi expressed satisfaction with the ruling saying denying Rastafarian children access to education because of dreadlocks was a violation of the children’s right to education.
