Police in Mulanje have arrested a 39-year-old Gift Mulenga for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
Mulanje Police Station Public Relations Officer, Innocent Moses, said the suspect has been defiling the victim since 2014 in Ntcheu, Zomba and Mulanje Districts.
It is alleged that the suspect started sleeping with her after marrying her mother in 2014.
He allegedly had been threatening the victim that she would be killed if she dared to reveal to anyone.
But everything came tumbling down on Malenga after the victim informed her parent, who later reported the matter to Police.
Mulenga has since been charged with defilement and he will appear before court soon.
He hails from Mpiyema Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mchiramwela in Thyolo District.
