UDF speaks out Muluzi’s walk to freedom, salutes govt

The United Democratic Front ( UDF) has saluted government stand to discontinue the corruption case in which former President Dr Bakili Muluzi was being accused of stealing K1.7 billion by the former government of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) under late Professor Bingu Wamutharika.

According to the press statement that has been signed by its Publicity Secretary Yusuf Mwawa, said that though justice has been delayed but ‘half bread is better than none”.

“We are not only gasping with signs of relief, but we reflect on serious political persecutions that ensue with various regimes that do not appreciate that do not appreciate the power of political diversity,” says the part of the statement.

The statement has further faulted former ruling party, DPP for persecuting Muluzi for many years that was uncalled for.

The party has therefore commended the justice system under President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera for “delivering justice” to Muluzi.
