DPP’s NGC meeting set for tomorrow, Mutharika to attend

The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is scheduled to hold its National Governing Council (NGC) at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi to decide dates for elective conference of the party.

The NGC meeting will be held tomorrow (Saturday), June 24, 2025.

Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the party is scheduled to grace the meeting which is expected to commence at 8am.

The embattled Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey and DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also leader opposition in Parliament are scheduled to attend.

The opposition DPP is currently rocked in leadership crisis with some top officials calling for Mutharika’s replacement.

While the other camp is advancing for Mutharika’s candidature in the forthcoming 2025 Presidential polls.
But Mutharika is yet to make a decision on the matter.
