A 12-year-old girl has drowned while her colleague is still missing at Kaliyote village in Mchinji district.
A relative to the girls, Saulos Bisalomo, told us that the deceased, Tasila James and her colleague Agnes Wiscott, aged 13, went to the garden to get sweet potatoes.
Bisalomo said while at the garden, the two related daughters went to a dam to drink water where they drowned in the process.
He said community members only managed to recover the body of Tasila while the other girl is still missing.
The deceased came from Kaliyote village in the area of Traditional Authority Mavwere in Mchinji district.
