Former President Peter Mutharika has arrived at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi ahead of the National Governing Council (NGC) meeting aimed at coming up with the date for the elective conference.

Initially, the NGC meeting was scheduled to be held on June 24, 2023 but was cancelled due to an injunction obtained by one of the top officials.

The official was against some of the delegates invited to the meeting, saying they were not eligible members of the National Governing Council.

Conspicuously missing is the party’s Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey who is reported to be attending court case in Lilongwe this afternoon.
