A manhunt has been launched for a couple of Shiwangandu District in Muchinga Province after they allegedly k!lled their 1 month 3 weeks old baby during a fight.
Muchinga Province Commissioner of Police, Kaunda Mubanga, identified the suspects as Shadrick Chanda aged 50 and Rebbeca Chanda aged 45, of Ruben village.
Mubanga said the incident occurred on 3rd July, 2023 when the couple reportedly picked up a quarrel around 01:00 hours in their bedroom of a thatched house.
He explained that while fighting, the couple fell on the infant who was sleeping and died on the spot.
The matter was reported to the Police by their neighbor whom the suspects informed of the incident.
Mubanga said Police visited the scene and found the corpse of the baby lying upwards in the bedroom with no noticeable injuries.
