Police in Chitipa have arrested 24 Ethiopians for allegedly entering the country illegally.
Chitipa Police Station publicist, Gladwell Simwaka says the suspects were found at Wenya along the Chitipa – Nthalire road.
According to Simwaka, police were tipped-off by well-wishers that the suspects were travelling in a high roof Toyota Hiace minibus.
The driver of the minibus and his assistant abandoned the vehicle and disappeared into a nearby bush and police say investigations are underway to apprehend them.
The suspects will appear in court soon to answer illegal entry charges.
