Chilima’s corruption case back in court

The corruption case involving State Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima is scheduled to return to court today in the capital Lilongwe.

On July 3, 2023, the High Court Judge Justice Redson Kapindu adjourned the case to today to give Chilima ample time to go through the chargesheet before taking plea in the corruption case.

The court also ordered ACB to furnish Chilima with disclosures of the case before the Vice President takes plea within 7 days.

But ACB lawyer Chrispin Khunga pleaded with the court that 7 days is not enough to furnish Chilima with the disclosures, asking the court to give the graft busting body at least 21 days to do that.
