Wyson Bush Elected New Chair Of Chikwawa Council

Wyson Bush of Mwamphazi ward, Chikwawa North Constiuency has been elected as new Chair replacing Khofati Malunga of Alumenda Ward , Nkombezi Constiuency.

Bush went unopposed , but the district Commissioner Nardin Kamba insisted on to proceed with election regardless of no competitor.

When Councilors voted , Wyson Bush got 11 votes , and ironically Alexander Chawa got one vote although he was not on nomination list.

The Chair of vice council has gone to Joe Gwanda of Chibisa ward beating Alexander Chawa of Chimwanjale ward 8 to 4 votes respectively. Joe Gwanda and Alexander Chawa all come from Chikwawa West.

In his speech , the new chair has promised to fix the problems the council are facing.

Bush has asked Secretariat to be patriotic to the district with the aim of stepping upward.

The out going Council Chair, Wisley Khofat Malunga has congratulated the new chair with the words of togetherness and being focused on various development.

Meanwhile Malunga has asked the fellow councilors to work with new council Chair.

District Commissioner Nardin Kamba has Commended the councilors for holding peaceful election and has described it as maturity.

Both new chair and new vice chair attempted last year for those position but they all lost to Khofat Malunga and Moffat Chabe respectively.

Wyson Bush is the DPP councilor, while Joe Gwanda is the Independent councilor.
