President Chakwera Orders Military Honours for Late Minister Peter Fatchi

President Lazarus Chakwera ordered that the late former cabinet minister and Attorney General, Peter Fatchi, be given military honours.

This decision was made because the President wants to recognize and honor anyone who served in public office.

The announcement was made by Eisenhower Mkaka, the Secretary General of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and a legislator for Lilongwe Mpenu Constituency, in Parliament.

Nicolas Dausi, a member of parliament for Mwanza central constituency, suggested honoring Peter Fatchi for his contributions to the country.

The late Fatchi will be laid to rest on Saturday at HHI cemetery in Blantyre.
