A 25-year-old man has committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree with a rope in Neno district.
Public Relations Officer for Neno Police Austin Kamwendo has confirmed the death and identified the deceased as Ramzy Funani.
According to Kamwendo, the deceased came back home in the afternoon drunk and he requested for a knife from his parents who refused and later he was found hanging from a tree 50 metres away from his parents home.
A medical doctor from Ligowe Health Centre who visited the scene established that death was due to hypoxia, secondary to suffocation and no foul play was suspected.
The deceased hailed from Matemba village in the area of Senior Chief Mlauli in the district.
