Govt To Launch Grand Challenges Program In Malawi

Government through the Minister of Education, Honourable Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima M.P, will tomorrow, Wednesday 30th August, 2023 preside over the launch of the Grand Challenges Malawi Program at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Among others, the Grand Challenges Malawi program aims at supporting the most creative scientists in the country to collaborate with their partners in Africa and globally and it has been staged at the theme of “Unlocking Strategic Investments Through Collaborative Research.”

Additionally, the program seeks to help in implementing research that fosters innovation in solving the most critical development challenges in Malawi and Africa.

Prof. Aggrey Ambali who is the Senior Advisor in the Office of Science, Technology and Innovation at AUDA-NEPAD and Prof. Thomas Kariuki, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Belance for Africa Foundation (BFA) are some faces to attend the launch.
