Two in custody at Mponela for stealing 3 donkeys

Police at Mponela in Dowa are keeping in custody two people identified as Fanizo Kaluso 20 and Mphambano Layini 22 for stealing 3 donkeys at Kasamba village in the area of Traditional Authority Chakhaza in Dowa.

The two were arrested on the 12th of this month on their way to Mponera trading center where they wanted to sell the stolen donkeys.

During the night of 11th August, the two broke the kraal of a certain man at Kasamba village and stole the donkeys.

The owner with the help of some relatives started searching for the missing donkeys and lucky enough the thieves were intercepted by neighboourhood watch members.

Matter was reported to Mponera Police and the 2 were arrested and will appear before court soon to answer the charges.

Both Fanizo Kaluso and Mphambano Layini hail from Chikhuta village in the area of Traditional Authority Chakhaza in Dowa district.
