A 47-year-old man identified as Francis Kachikhanda has died in what is suspected to be a suicide today on September 15, 2023.
Kachikhanda was discovered hanging to the roof at around 06:00 hours by his wife when she entered their bedroom.
Ntchisi Police Station detectives, accompanied by Ntchisi District Hospital medical personnel, visited the scene.
Post-mortem by the said hospital revealed that death was due to suffocation.
Meanwhile, police in the district are advising people to always share challenges they face with others for counselling, other than choosing to end their own lives.
Ntchisi Police public Relations officer, constable Glory Kondowe confirmed the death and said Francis Kachikhanda hailed from Kachitsukwa in the area of Traditional Authority Malenga in Ntchisi District.
