Mchinji Police say unknown people have killed an old man and assaulted his 75-year-old son in the district.
According to Mchinji Police Publicist, Constable Limbani Mpinganjira, the son, Daniel Dymon and his father Dymon Kasambeni were attacked during the night of 25 September 2023 in Ntanga Village, Traditional Authority Mabvwere in the district.
Mpinganjira said the deceased visited his son for family discussions on September 24, 2023 and mate their ordeal while asleep.
The two were rushed to Nkhwazi Health Center, before being referred to Mchinji District Hospital, the deceased died on his way back home after being discharged while the son is still receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, police say they are still investigating the matter and have launched a hunt for the perpetrators who are still at large.
