A 58-year-old man, identified as Andison Mikeyasi has died after hanging himself to a branch of tree on October 03, 2023 in Lumbadzi, Lilongwe.
Mikeyasi was discovered hanging to the branch of tree at around 06:00 hours by passerby villagers who were going to the gardens.
Detectives from Lumbadzi Police Station accompanied by medical personnel from Chinkhuti Health Centre visited the scene.
Postmortem revealed that death was due to strangulation and no foul play was suspected.
Meanwhile, police in the area is advising people to always share challenges they face with others for counselling, other than taking their own lives.
Mikeyasi hailed from Mpenda Village, Traditional Authority Chitukula in Lilongwe.
