A Lusaka couple, Hellen Kaunda and David Banda, shocked many by divorcing just 14 days into their marriage.
Banda, employed by Beautiful Living Company, sought to end the marriage, citing his wife Doris Mutale’s fertility as the reason.
Doris revealed that Banda paid K13,000 dowry but canceled pre-wedding events, requesting a low-key ceremony.
She later discovered Banda’s history of multiple divorces and learned he divorced her for fearing she could bear more children.
Banda claimed Doris was too insecure, and the court granted the divorce with compensation awarded to Doris.
