The Government has failed to increase the salaries of civil servants by K44 on every K100 following devaluation of Kwacha.
According to Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Simplex Chithyola Banda has said that the government will increase salaries of his employees with K10 kwacha on every K100.
This means that people who receive K100 thousand per month will now be receiving K110 thousand per month.
He announced this in the National Assembly when he was presenting the 2023/2024 Mid-year Budget Review statement.
Recently the Malawi Congress of Trade Unions (MCTU) has asked the government to increase the salary by K44 per month in every K100 but the government has failed.
