Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Salima has sentenced 37- year- old, Blessings Malenso, to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour, for defiling a 15-year-old girl.
According to the government prosecutor in the case, Justice Manolo, the convict and the victim were neighbors and on August 15 this year, Malenso called the girl to his house to watch over some chicken.
Manolo said the convict told the girl to go in his house to get the keys of the Chicken cage and when she entered in the house, Malenso followed her and dragged her to his bedroom and defiled her.
When this happened, the victim run home and informed her father and the case was reported to Salima Police which led to the arrest of Malenso.
Malenso hails from Tembwe village, Traditional Authority Mlonyeni in Mchinji district.
