Police in Rumphi are keeping in custody a 31 year-old Naomi Ngwira for having sexual intercourse with a 14 year-old boy.
It is reported that on November 20, 2023 at around 10:00 hours the victim was going to Chitimba trading centre and he was alone.
On his way, he met the suspect who asked him to escort her to the bush to fetch firewood. Whilst in the bush the suspect forced the boy to have sexual intercourse with her and after the act, she threatened him not to reveal the ordeal.
Three days later the victim was not feeling well and went to Chitimba Health Centre where he was diagnosed with Gonorrhoea.
The victim’s father was surprised with the diagnosis and enquired from the victim who revealed that he had unprotected sex with the suspect.
The matter was reported to officers at Chitimba Police Unit who upon enquiries arrested the suspect.
She will soon appear before court to answer the charges of having sexual intercourse with a male child which is contrary to section 138 (2) of the penal code.
Naomi Ngwira hails from Mwabongolo village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwalweni in Rumphi district.
