Secretary general of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Grezelder Jeffrey is challenging her removal from the position.
This follows her application to the High Court in Lilongwe which has since set December 12 for an interparty hearing in the chambers of Justice Howard Pemba.
DPP president Peter Mutharika fired Jeffrey from the position and appointed her as vice president responsible for the central region
In her application Jeffrey is demanding the court to stop the second defendant in the case Clement Mwale from exercising the powers and functions of the secretary general as suggested by Mutharika.
The central executive committee of the DPP effected the appointment of Jeffrey as vice president for the central region and Chiwaya as the secretary general.
