On December 21, 2023, Zomba Police arrested 14 men for various offenses in the district, including theft and house break-ins.
Patricia Sipiliano, spokesperson for Zomba Police Station, identified two of the suspects as ‘habitual’ individuals, Kumbukani Mitochi, aged 30, and McDonald Saidi, aged 34.
The arrests were made by the Zomba Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) during an intelligence-driven raid and ambush operation.
The operation targeted Zomba township and surrounding areas, resulting in the successful apprehension of the suspects.
The arrested individuals are now in custody, and legal proceedings are expected to follow.
