Police in the lakeshore district of Nkhotakota, have arrested 21- year – old Ekizeviya Kachape for allegedly stoning to death his father, John Kachape aged 60.
Sergeant Paul Malimwe, Spokesperson for Nkhotakota Police Station said that yesterday, the suspect went home whilst drunk and demanded K1000 from his brother.
“Disagreements erupted between the suspect and his brother which made the father to intervene inorder to end the disagreements. In the process, the suspect took a brick , hit his father on the chest and he fell down” said Malimwe.
“Some well wishers took him to Mwansambo health center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival”, he added.
Both the suspect and the deceased are from Luwera village in the area of Senior Chief Mwansambo in Nkhotakota.
