A tragic incident unfolded in Honde Valley as a 54-year-old man allegedly beat his 14-year-old daughter to death, accusing her of dating a neighbor’s son.
The accused, Amos Nyamangodo, allegedly resorted to concealing the crime by hastily arranging Rufaro Nyamangodo’s burial without a post-mortem examination.
The assault, carried out on December 23, caused severe injuries leading to Rufaro’s untimely demise.
Law enforcement was alerted after the victim’s brother discovered her lifeless body on December 29, prompting the father’s arrest following his report to Ruda Police Station.
The deceased’s mother, Patricia Chawora, expressed deep anguish and disbelief over the brutal manner in which her daughter met her end, emphasizing the trauma experienced by the family.
Community leaders and the family patriarch decried the tragic loss, denouncing the father’s alleged actions as deplorable and urging for respect towards children’s well-being.
Rufaro’s brutalized state was evidenced in images revealing bruises, lacerations, and a swollen arm.
