Unknown criminals armed with panga knives and rifles stole over 6 million Kwacha and other items from a businessman’s house in Katuli, Mangochi, last night.
The incident occurred in Kasanga village, near the border area with Mozambique.
Reportedly, over seven armed men broke into the house, tied up the owner, and made off with the stolen items.
Mangochi police station spokesperson, Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, confirmed the incident but mentioned she cannot provide many details as investigations are currently underway.
The authorities are working to gather more information about the unfortunate incident.
