Information reaching this publication indicates that Member of Parliament for Mwanza West, Joyce Chitsulo has resigned from the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
Chitsulo’s resignation after registering her concerns over how the party is treating Mwanza Central MP Nicholas Dausi.
“I’am no longer one of their members. I will stand on Independent ticket in 2025 and I will with landslide. My move has been “endorsed my elders” that I must dump DPP who have described my move as “outstanding.
“If President Lazarus Chakwera comes to my constituency to ask me to help him mobilize people for him, I will do that. If Nankhumwa comes and asks for the same, I will also do help him. But to help a party that is full of selfish leadership is absurd and unwise to any common sense person,” Chitsulo was quoted as saying.
Chitsulo has described her decision as personal.
Effort to talk to DPP spokesperson Shadrick Namalomba on the matter proved futile.
