Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Governing Council (NGC) is scheduled to meet soon to set dates for the party’s elective conference.

DPP Secretary General Dr. Clement Mwale confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the party will hold the elective conference in July.

“I can confirm that the DPP’s NGC meeting will soon meet and come up with the actual dates for the elective conference,” said Mwale.

According to Mwale, all positions are up for grabs.

Initially, the opposition DPP was scheduled to hold its elective conference in December last year following a court order but the convention was called off.

The party is scheduled to spend over 700 million for the elective conference.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports indicates that former President Peter Mutharika will go unopposed.
